Gift from Him....singleness
Marriage…A blessed union between husband and wife, the chance to maneuver through this beautiful yet interesting thing called life with someone by your side. The opportunity to wake up to the love of your life each and every day, etc….and the list goes on! It may have its ups and downs, but yes, marriage is indeed a beautiful thing.
Singleness---Well, if you would have told me there was something beautiful about being single 5 years ago….I would called you crazy! I mean, you see all the happy couples holding hands, celebrating their time together, not having to deal with the foolishness of the dating world, and you, alone, and all by yourself! It's hard to understand the beauty in that, isn't it? However, PRAISE God for giving you understanding when you ask for it! Through God, I can now understand the beauty in being single.
Singleness is the time to learn more about yourself. It's the time to develop understanding of your “mess”, before taking on someone else’s. It's the time to connect with God on a completely different level. Time to enjoy being with yourself, To LOVE YOURSELF. The list goes on. There is No denying it now, that being single is also a beautiful thing!
Give thanks to Him for the season He has you in! Trust me, He knows what He is doing. Perhaps, He wants you to know Him better so when you do enter into your God-given relationship, you will not make your significant other your idol and worship him/her more than you do Him. Perhaps He wants you to get your life in order. Or perhaps, He wants you to appreciate what He has given to you first. Lastly, have you ever considered that it may not be you that's not ready? It could be that the one He has for you isn’t ready yet…
Whatever the reason may be, if you don’t have it…that means it's not time! His timing is perfect timing! Trust Him and wait! Don’t chase after something God has not prepared you for. Doing so will bring more harm than good. "Don’t waste your time desiring something better than the gift you have now! The grass may appear greener on the other side, but the water bill is higher.”
Give thanks and cherish the gift He has blessed you with!
Peace and Blessings
